How to Fit the JAS 40
- Disconnect the battery — Always disconnect the negative terminal of your battery before starting any electrical work.
- Remove the original headlight — Unscrew the headlight retaining ring or bracket. Carefully unplug the stock connector from the wiring loom.
- Install the relay harness (recommended) — Connect the relay harness inline between the battery and the JAS 40. The harness takes power directly from the battery and uses the stock headlight signal to trigger the relay — reducing load on original wiring.
- Connect the JAS 40 — Plug the JAS 40's connector into the relay harness (or directly into the stock connector if your wiring supports it). Match Hi/Lo beam wires: Hi beam to Hi, Lo beam to Lo, ground to ground.
- Mount the headlight — Secure the JAS 40 into the headlight bracket using the included mounting hardware. Tighten firmly but do not overtighten.
- Aim the beam — Before reconnecting the battery, position the headlight so the low beam illuminates the road ahead without dazzling oncoming traffic. Adjust the tilt bracket as needed.
- Reconnect the battery and test — Reconnect the negative terminal. Switch the ignition on and test both high and low beam. Check for flicker — if present, install an anti-flicker capacitor or CANBUS decoder.
