How to Fit

Tools Required: Socket set, Allen keys, screwdrivers, torque wrench

  1. Disconnect the battery — Always disconnect the negative terminal before working on controls.
  2. Remove mirrors and levers — Slide off grips, then remove brake and clutch levers, switch housings, and throttle assembly. Photograph the layout for reassembly reference.
  3. Loosen the handlebar clamps — Loosen the top yoke clamp bolts evenly. Do not fully remove until the bar is ready to lift out.
  4. Remove the old handlebar — Carefully slide out the old bar, feeding cables and wiring through as needed.
  5. Install the new RD handlebar — Position the new bar in the clamps, aligning the center knurl with the clamp center. Hand-tighten the clamp bolts.
  6. Refit controls and switchgear — Slide on throttle tube, switch housings, levers, and grips in reverse order. Ensure throttle snaps back freely with no binding.
  7. Check cable routing — Verify all cables (throttle, clutch, front brake) have smooth, unobstructed routing through full lock-to-lock steering movement.
  8. Torque clamp bolts — Tighten handlebar clamp bolts to manufacturer spec (typically 18–22 Nm). Do not overtighten.
  9. Test before riding — With the bike stationary, check full steering sweep, throttle snap-back, and brake lever feel. Take a slow test ride before full use.
